Server-controlled interfaces emerged years ago – Airbnb and similar companies established this pattern for mobile applications, where app store approval delays complicate interface updates. The backend transmits JSON instructions specifying display elements, and the client simply executes them. While ingenious, ultimate control remains with the server.
