To actually access it, we need to replace the direct command handler with a function which lets us read arbitrary memory addresses. The direct command handler turns out to be an excellent location to hijack because it is already hooked up to all the infrastructure needed to communicate to and from the PC. This greatly simplifies the work we need to do.
